Find answers to common questions about joining our community and getting involved.

How can I get involved as a student?

Students can join OpenStage by applying through our contact form. We welcome learners at all levels, from beginners to advanced students. You'll be matched with projects that align with your skills and interests, and paired with experienced mentors who will guide you through real-world challenges.

What requirements are there to become a mentor?

We're looking for professionals with at least 2-3 years of industry experience who are passionate about helping others grow. Mentors should be able to commit to regular check-ins with students and provide guidance on both technical and career development aspects. All skill levels and backgrounds are welcome.

Is there any cost to participate?

OpenStage is completely free for all participants. As a non-profit organization, our mission is to make real-world tech experience accessible to everyone, regardless of their financial situation. We're supported by donations, grants, and the generous time contributions of our volunteer mentors.

What types of projects do you work on?

Our projects range from web applications and mobile apps to data analysis tools and automation scripts. We work with real organizations that need technical solutions, ensuring that student work has genuine impact. Projects are selected based on their educational value and potential for meaningful contribution.

How long do projects typically last?

Project duration varies depending on scope and complexity, typically ranging from 2-6 months. This timeframe allows students to dive deep into the development process, learn proper project management, and see their work through from conception to deployment.
